Lelong Kain

It's been a while since I last wrote. Been so busy with work and this swine flu makes me worried too.

Alahan/Severe vomitting (Hyperemesis 2)

I read an article on this just now and really made me want to laugh out loud. I don't know how a doctor can write such a lame article on such a medical condition. Yes ladies, hyperemesis gravidarum is a medical condition and unfortunately there is no medication to help. But do not worry, you only have to suffer for 9 months and it'll go away immediately after birth.

This article gave usual advice - eat cracker bla...bla...bla....but hey! non of them work so you can try them but don't expect miracle. I'm planning for my 3rd one now but I still don't have a concrete plan on how I will got through it this time.

Ok, one thing I am taking dandelion supplement (liver tonic). I read it somewhere but of course no guarantee that it'll work for me. Have you tried it ? Or do you know any side effect of taking this ? I read mixed review on this but I decided still to give it a try. I guess this is better than taking Zofran which is used by cancer patient to reduce vomitting.

Pangkor adhoc

2 weeks ago, we decided to visit Pangkor island in Perak - very last minute. I wasn't quite interested to go there after my last visit. The ferry terminal was very crowded and it took hours before we could board the ferry.

It was different this time . Ideal time to go there. It was after a long weekend so the crowd already left. We did not even have to wait to board the ferry. Hotels were available even without booking. The beach was not crowded but still there were quite a number of people. I guess there already know my BKM (best known method) of offpeak travel.

We stayed at the brand new Anjungan resort at Teluk Nipah. Officially opened early of the year. Still smell of fresh paint. There's swimming pool too. Room was spacious and we took for 3 person - 1 double and a single bed. Breakfast not included though but I still think the price was reasonable for such a nice place.

The beach is just across the road so my kids were well entertained - it's either the pool or the beach regardless of the weather.

My baby is screaming...will be right back.....

Alahan/Hyperemesis 1

I've been reading a lot on this topic since my 1st prenancy 7 years ago. Unfortunately, until now I have not find any remedy to reduce the suffering. So i hope you out there can help me and other sufferers to at least reduce the effect.

What is Hyperemesis Gravidarum?
You can find the exact meaning on the web but to us the sufferers it means:

1) Continuous vomiting from day 1 for months and in my case until birth.
- imagine being sick for 9 month plus :(

2) Unable to eat or drink
- i couldn't drink at all. any type of water. I reduce my thirst by eating watermelon.
- any food's taste or smell cause me to vomit. Only watermelon. At the end of my pregnancy, i managed to eat rice with fried jenahak . No other type of fish or other type of cooking.

3) Increased sense of smell and taste - this is the cause of no (2).

Langkawi : Travelling with small children

I'll be briefly touching on the travel tips to Langkawi with small children. Also, I found that it's quite hard to get travel advice when I travel with children. Travel with children require a different mental/physical strength and patience. Let us share it here.

Why am I offering this advice ?
1) I've been there more than 20 times from another state in Malaysia.
2) I travelled with a 2 yrs old boy and a 6 yr old girl. I went there since my son was 2 months old.
3) I've lived overseas so I might be able to advice from foreigner's point of view.

So yes, I do know what i am talking about :)
